Monday Night Football

Bryan and I in our Monday Night Football watching gear! Go Bears!
Ohhhhhhhh, yeahhhhhhhhhhh.......what can I say? As a Bear's fan, I have to say that there is nothing better (when you aren't going to make the playoffs) than messing up someone else's chances :) Happy Thursday!

14 years ago today....

14 years ago today, at about this time of the morning, we did this....
And my new husband exclaimed, "It's getting tighter...!" as the ring of love encircled his finger and threatened to cut off circulation.

Obey was NOT in the vows....Of this I am certain. For better, for worse-yea, we've seen those. For richer for poorer....yea-we've seen a lot of that too, mostly the poorer...

I love you-for better or worse, and all the stuff in between.

Wow! 14 years. I hope to make it to 50, like Grandma and Grandpa. Happy Anniversary, honey. {And you better sing the Happy Anniversary song to me every year....}

Making Merry-There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays

There's no place like home for the holidays. Especially when there is a beautiful Christmas snow.
An old Christmas present-Mom tried to give it back to me, but I think it looks much better on her porch.

A merry Christmas tree out front covered in snow.

Kids hanging out on the couch.

A sister home for the holidays...

mmmmm......

a hallmark tree shining brightly for all to see...

Jake and Patricia in front of the tree.

Brother and sisters in front of the tree. I have another photo that is less fuzzy, but I like this one best.

My honey and I.

And the wonderful smell of a real tree...photo taken from underneath it. Sorry about all of the ornaments, Mom :) Happy Monday!

December Daily {Day 20-25}

My finished December Daily album. {Finally}

I love all of the different embellishments sticking out from the pages and all of the different shapes and sizes of the pages.
Dec 20: WHAT is in that box?

Inspired by this . Although I was not successful sewing through the American Crafts thickers. I just skipped over then when I was sewing. I currently have red thread in the top of the machine and white on the bobbin, so you can barely see the stitching on the front page.

Day 21: Watching A Christmas Carol while William takes photos.

Photo of the table decorations with the white tulips on the table.

Day 22: Journaling about how the kids exchange gifts between each other every year.

William wrapping Bryan's gift. The envelope has tags in it from the gifts, so I could keep a record of the kids' handwriting.

Dec 23: 11 things that I loved about today-layout inspired by Ali.

Some of the things that we did that I loved. Including spending 5 hours playing Star Wars Risk and still not finishing the game.

Santa's elves.

The kids in front of the tree.

Dec 25: All of us in front of the tree on Christmas Eve.

The envelope that I bought at Hallmark. I included the kids' Christmas lists, a picture that Eliz colored, and a letter to Santa. Merry Christmas everyone!

Gift Exchange

Every year a night or 2 before Christmas eve, the kids exchange presents with each other. It isn't anything huge-and usually it's just a movie, but it is a tradition that they expect every year :) This year, I found William's favorite version of Batman on DVD. It was out of print last year at Christmas when it was on his list, so when I found it this year, I was pretty excited...so was he.
Elizabeth wanted Airplane and her and William watched this as soon as they were finished opening presents.

Bryan had LOTS of wrestling DVDs on his list, and this was one of them. You can tell by the look on his face how excited he is about it.
Lots of fun to come! Counting down the days....Happy Wednesday!

Tigger

Tigger is reading magazines and getting ready to eat some ribeye and a baked potato.
My Christmas cards should be "going postal" tomorrow. Sorry for the delay....
Happy Tuesday! All I want for Christmas is for a certain something to pass all of the tests in the factory...really...that's all I want...

Holiday Traditions

Template & Brush by Ali Edwards.
I had to roll out the cookies myself and cut them. {I seriously need some new cookie cutters-I could NOT find any of the good Christmas cookie cutters and don't know where they went.} But when I decorated them-people were happy to eat them.

Brush is Ali Edwards.
Mmmmmmm......buckeyes.....I made the peanut butter balls earlier in the week and the "wolves" were gathered around me in the kitchen.

Coconut macaroons...William followed me around the house messing around with the bag of coconut until I FINALLY made the cookies for him...then he ate too many. Then he ate more...

And of course...brush by Ali.
And I decided that the sad tulips from Hy-Vee needed a reindeer ornament.
Have a great week! I have tons to do at work and only 2 days to do it:) Happy Monday!

December Daily {Day 16, 17, 18 and 19}

Day 16: Bryan brought home the little bear sticker from religious ed on Wed, so I immediately used it on this page. I journalled about my day on the card inside the envelope on the page.
Photo of Bill and I that I took using the timer on the camera.

Ali Edwards brush (Handdrawn Holidays) says, "a wonderfully ordinary december day"

Day 17: I originally planned to use the photo of all 3 of the kids to place behind the overlay, but it didn't turn out right. The "two" ended up right over Bryan's face. So I used the tulip page for the overlay and created a new page for the photo of the kids.

Collage of photos taken on the 17th-Elizabeth as Rudolph, Hickory Farms basket that Bill brought home, working on a digital scrapbook page, and Elizabeth doing Algebra II homework.

Another of Ali's handdrawn holiday brushes.
Photo of the kids-they are really good sports about taking photos during the holidays :)

The collage worked on an day 17, so I figured it work out here as well.

Day 18: {Another Ali Edwards brush-loving the handdrawn holiday brushes!}

I love the red and brown color schemes. Left work at 1:00, finished up most of the shopping and had lunch at Arby's with Daddy. I even got some wrapping done.

Day 19: Presents are just about ready to go! The Ali Edwards' brush on the photo says, "I love christmas time!" The type says, "wrapping is mostly done".
I love the December daily process (even though it can be time consuming, even when you have the book itself complete and just need to "print a photo or 2...). Happy Saturday night!!!

December Daily {Day 13 (continued) 14, and 15}

The back of Day 13-dressed in our football watching clothes for Sunday football!
I wasn't in the mood to take photos, so I chose a couple of Christmas past photos-i love this photo with Kermit the frog!

I loved this photo too-Charlie and I with our New Year's garb on and in the background, Kermit and Curious George are sleeping with one of my favorite blankets under the Christmas tree.

I added a baseball protector page (scraplift of Ali Edwards CK December page) to include some photos of decorations.

Here is the back of that page.

I finally started working on Christmas cards...they are still not done.

Awesome-Monday night I found one of December Daily pages on Ali's blog-SWEET!
I will post more pages as I get the photos ready. Happy Saturday!
