I love Lilies in the backyard.
Especially after a nice summer rain.
They are so beautiful.
I love the bright orange color.
Orange is such a summery color.
And bright yellow too!
Hello, Summer!
It’s nice to see you!
Happy Thursday!

Happy Thursday!
Eighteen?
When did this happen?
I remember this…like it was yesterday.
And this…but…
didn’t I just turn eighteen?
(okay…maybe not…)
But you were just 5!
And I remember when I held you in my arms for the first time. And Sarah held you for the first time…
Happy Birthday, Sweetie! We love you.
Have fun…but not too much fun…
Tuesday I made my husband take me Antique shopping in Marion, IA.
He found a slide rule. I LOVE it. Bryan said, “It looks confusing…I’m glad we have calculators.”
Agreed…but it is still a nice piece of engineering history.
A “new” bread box.
And a new camera for my collection At a very good price.
Love this-it is like a 1/3 printer’s drawer. Perfect size to hold photos in my kitchen.
A set of nesting enamelware bowls (another great find by my husband!)
Holly Hobbie. She doesn’t look very vintage. But it’s okay. I haven’t had a Holly Hobbie doll for years.
I found 2 bowls. This one was $6 and isn’t in very good shape. The other was identical to this one, but was in perfect condition for $16. I picked up this one. I set it back down. I felt sorry for it. So I bought it. I think it fits right into our house…
In their home…I loved this red and white polka dot bowl. There were 3 different sizes, but I didn’t want to spend that much, so I just bought the largest of the 3. I have never seen anything like this before though.
It holds ALL of my Distress Inks too! (I may even have room to buy a few more…)
Finally, this bowl/plate (I can’t figure out exactly which one it is)…I actually bought it because of the color. (Love). And it works great in my sewing area.
I had a lot of fun and saw a TON of inspiring things to get my creative juices flowing.
Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow
Happy Thursday!
On Saturday night we went to a CR Kernels game compliments of Red Star Yeast. Yay!
I forgot my camera (gasp, I know!) but luckily I had my Blackberry on hand to capture the moment.
Our friends Paul and Deborah were there with their son Simon for Deborah’s work party too.
Simon seemed to be enjoying the game too. The Kernels won! Yay!
And then there were fireworks after the game.
I was impressed-I thought the Blackberry camera did a fairly good job of capturing the fireworks in horrible lighting conditions.
We had a great time. And enjoyed the free beer…
Happy Tuesday again!
On Monday morning, I was feeling a little bit like a kid stuck indoors at camp.
So…what do you do when your stuck indoors at camp? Make crafts!
I doodled some designs on a piece of Shrinky dink paper.
And made this!
I did some other stuff too, but I don’t have photos of that yet
Happy Tuesday!
On Friday, I made these tags using 2 new stamps from Michael’s that I found in the dollar bin.
I <3 $1.00 stamps + butterflies.
I stamped the image on a tag using VersaMark ink.
Then used Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel to create a resist.
Then I used a combination of frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, wild honey, and walnut stain on top of the butterfly image.
To get this! I love the reminder to “Dream Big!”
I also bought the next installment of Donna Downey’s PanPastels class called PanPastel 102.
I love this color combination.
This makes an awesome background!
Playing with different types of mediums and seeing how the pan pastels stick.
Don’t forget to Dream big!!!
