More Pics from Moms

I have been a really bad blogger lately. 

This is a photo of Mom and Bryan-I have lots of photos of Mom and Bryan from his Birthday every year.

I think this one is my favorite-Mom is supposed to be taking a photo of Kate and I, but she is totally engrossed in watching the Polaroid develop  

This is the first time that I have ever seen (or heard of) a sun dog.  Isn’t it awesome?  I saw it from the back seat of the car on our way home from the baby shower. 

Here is an explanation:  “These appear when the sun is low in the sky and its rays catch the thin vapour formed of ice crystals which lies in the atmosphere six miles above the Earth's surface. The rays are refracted by the crystals to produce what looks like a halo round the sun.”

Before we could leave, Mom had to take a photo of all of us together (except for Sarah-miss you!). 

It was a great weekend.  I will try to be a better blogger this week.

It’s a Beautiful Day

Well, it was a beautiful day.  Back in September.  When I took this photo.  I was looking through photos that I took over the weekend. And I came across this one. This is my kind of day.  Beautiful field (yes I am a child of the Midwest .  Beautiful sky.  Beautiful clouds-few and far between.   This is a beautiful day.  *Sigh*  I am sooo ready for Spring. 

 

This photo was taken the same day, but several hours later.  I am partial to sunsets and farms.  Which is probably a good thing living in Iowa-we have a lot of both.  And a little lens flare is always nice too.  Edit: So I’m looking at this photo and the more I think about it, whether I took it this week or not-I really like this photo and I think it should be my repetition photo!  I can’t believe it was just buried in with my daughter and her friends’ senior photos and I forgot all about it! 

Finally, I love these rolling hills.  This photo reminded me of the prompt for the week in Picture Inspiration-Rhythm and/or Repetition.  The rolling hills remind me of rhythm. 

But my photo for the week is this photo that I took over the weekend and was inspired by Repetition (and Ralph!)  The repetition of the rows leads your eye to the treeline…which I didn’t have time to explore-maybe next time we visit.   And it is so fitting right now-no green to be found anywhere! 

 

Final thought of the day is Tigger-Tiggy for short.  She was a real trooper while I was adventuring and taking photos.  Her knees were really bothering her by the time we headed back to the house, but she made it (there and back again as Bilbo would say).  She was even pretty interested in something that she saw deep in the grass here.  I didn’t hang out long enough to find out

Time for a Baby Shower

Bryan got an early birthday card.  He used his money to buy a cell phone.  Maybe he won’t break this one…right…

We wrapped lots of presents-it has been a LONG time since we have had a baby around to buy for. 

And we are all pretty excited about it. 

We packed up Moms new car

Clint Eastwood carried the big item for us and he kept making sounds from “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.”

We crowded into the backseat so Patricia could have the front.  It was really comfy. 

Patricia’s Mom made the cake. 

And we found a nice couch that was perfect for all 4 of us to sit on. 

 

We played some games. 

We ate some of these. 

and Patricia opened LOTS of these.

and toys…

And there was lots of sisterly love. 

We had a great time, Patricia!  Good luck and we can’t wait to see you guys again with your new bundle of joy!

Um…yea-I’m probably going to regret putting this photo into the post tomorrow.  But my husband goes nuts when the catalogs in the mail have little cologne envelopes in them and he has to rub them all over himself. And yay-he finally shaved the goatee!

William decided he wanted to build a cabin.  Actually, Bryan wanted to build a cabin on Tuesday, but I didn’t get a photo taken of him with it (I don’t know why!) and William took it apart to build another one. 

William used to LOVE to build with Legos when he was little and would spend hours building them. 

I finally got inspired enough tonight to do a load of laundry and create an art journal page.  Hoping I can be more creative this weekend!

So…my Blackberry doesn’t take very great photos.  But that is okay.  It is enough that I always have a camera on hand when I see something that I like.  So here are some things that have been inspiring me lately.

I have been slightly overwhelmed lately because I am trying to do too many things at one time.  I have lots of classes going on right now and I want to stay caught up on all of them.  But I’m going a little crazy.
