Mom's Vacation

Love these photos of Paul and Micah and the boogie board. I don't even need to know what really happened...the photos tell the story. Note: Most photos taken by my Mom.
So here is how it started...simple enough, I was going to upload the photos from Mom's VK photo CD and copy them so that I could later put them on a CD. My Mom took some fabulous photos during her vacation. I couldn't help myself. I had to digi-scrap them. So here is the result. Mom-if you want copies of these-I may be able to accommodate you...Hope you don't mind...
This photo is gorgeous! I think it is Pauly and Micah, but I'm not positive.

Love that photo of Uncle Tom as "Grandpa" and Paul as "Daddy" and the scary 50-something guys...And that is an awesome brother-sister shot of Mom and Uncle Tom.

Love the great photos of Kate! This was actually the first layout that I did. I knew immediately what I wanted to do.

These are VERY important women in our family. Debbie, Lula, and Grandma B. Instrumental in who we all are today, I have no doubt.
I am so jealous. I wish I was the one who took these photos. Mom-I hope you don't mind, but I'm probably going to make other things out of these photos. I love them...

Again...this is a beautiful photo and ALMOST makes me wish we had gone to Florida...but I had WAY too much fun in Colorado...so it's okay. It looks like you guys had a fantastic vacation. I'm glad I could scrapbook it for you. Love you, Mom. Maybe I'll finish my own VK photos pretty soon. Happy Weekend!

Camping Memories 2009

Trying to light a fire with wet wood in the rain.
Here it is-the long awaited camping memories 2009 post :) Many of you have already heard the story of our waterlogged trip where we had a beautiful campsite along Handcart Creek (I think that's right...).

I could use this one as our Christmas card photo....

Elizabeth and Jeremy...

Setting up camp.

Sarah is taking photos of the flowers.

I actually have tons of photos of our trip. The site was beautiful. The water rushing by on the rocks was a wonderful sound. I could do without the rain falling all night long though. I will try to post just a few more photos tomorrow. Happy Tuesday!

I love the flowers that you bought! They're beautiful!

Gridley thought that Butch should be petting him-not sleeping!

The Ranch, Part II

Horses out in the pasture while a storm rolls in.
MMMmmmm.....bacon.....

Lots of doggies...
The bunkhouse-we spent the night here on Saturday night. Sunday night we slept in the guest bedroom. Wish I'd taken photos inside the bunkhouse. It was very beautifully decorated.

Elizabeth and William playing Fusbol in the game "house."

The llama. He keeps an eye on 86 when she gets out. He doesn't leave the fenced-in area, but he hangs out nearby.

William on the four-wheeler.

Elizabeth learning the controls on the four-wheeler.

An intense game of fusbol while Elizabeth plays with the barn kitties.

Pike's Peak from the south as we were heading toward Colorado Springs.

Bryan on the four-wheeler.
We had such a wonderful time at Laura and Charlie's. I wish I could post ALL of the photos that I took. But that would take far more time than I have. It was great and I can't wait to go out and visit again. Thank you! Happy Friday!

The Ranch, Part I

Laura and Charlie's ranch in Southern Colorado.

When Laura and Charlie found this horse, he was severely malnourished. He used to be a racehorse. They have had him for a while now and he still isn't up to his proper weight.

This is 86. Also known as, Houdini. She gets out of the pen a lot. Like twice in one day while we were there.
This is 96. He is still being bottle fed.

This is one of the hens. She is good at keeping eggs warm, so that is what she does.

Here we are with Laura & Charlie on Sunday night. They are totally awesome people and Laura did a great job of taking care of my husband before I was old enough to meet him :) Laura made some awesome food and we thank both of them so much for having us and putting up with us over the weekend!

Love this photo-I can't remember if Sarah took this one or if one of the kids took it. But it turned out great! And look at that backdrop! Love to get photos of me with my sweetheart!

I know Sarah took this photo. I am going to use this layout for the cover of my vacation book.
We had such a great time in Colorado! More photos of Sarah and Jeremy coming soon. Happy Popcorn Day {Thursday}!

Colorado Sunset

Sunset in southern Colorado after a storm.

Tuesday is golf day (finally not rained out!) and then we rented a movie, so no time to post much tonight. I love this photo that was taken on Laura and Charlie's ranch after a thunderstorm. So beautiful. I hope to have more vacation posts later in the week-or maybe over the weekend. Happy Wednesday!

Taking Photos

My sister and I love taking photos! Whether it is of each other, the beautiful scenery, or the local foliage (lots of these!) we always have a camera handy. And my sister takes fabulous photos! Thanks, Sarah! I actually got to be in some vacation photos!
Sarah saw a marmot hiding under a rock and stayed to take photos, so it took her a little while longer come down from the top of Mt. Evans. He was a cute little guy.
Sarah taking photos of the flowers around our campsite.

Sarah and I taking photos of each other taking photos at our campsite :)

I uploaded 250 photos to Shutterfly yesterday (it's not as impressive as it sounds.... ) It was really great sharing photos with Sarah as we took them so that we both have photos like this :)
I decided to create a photobook with my vacation photos, so I will be starting that process very soon. I can't wait to play with all of the photos! Happy Tuesday!

Mt Evans-14,270 feet

Here we are on top of Mt. Evans with Sarah and Jeremy on Tuesday. Butch carried the tripod so that I could get a photo of all of us up at the top. I have a TON of photos to sort through {I am SOOOO glad that I can digitally sort through them rather than having a ton of photos developed and then throwing half of them away} but here is a brief summary of our vacation:

*over 2,000 miles driven
*1 emergency prompt care visit for tons of stitches
*1 mom relieved that it wasn't more serious
*many delicious dinners
*1 waterlogged camping trip
*6 Gb of photos taken
*1 trip to Mt. Evans
*a couple of celebratory beverages
*miles and miles of beautiful scenery
*lots of animals
*tons of fun

I totally missed my puppies while we were gone, but we had a wonderful time! It was great to visit family and friends and see both extremes of Colorado-the flatlands and the mountains. They were both beautiful and I will try to get it all organized so that I can post what we did. In the meantime...we need to get some groceries. There is NO food in this house. Happy Saturday!

Camping Memories-2006

I think 2006 was my favorite year of camping. We had fun, we caught fish, the kids were able to take pictures, I only had one more semester until Graduation, we had just bought our house...it was good times. Looking forward to having a great time very soon!

Camping Memories- 2003

Look at how small these 2 are! Tigger was just a puppy still and Bryan was tiny too! This is the only year that we took Tigger camping. She loved the water and even got to go canoeing!

This camping trip was a lot of fun-but it sucked that Elizabeth couldn't go with us. I bought each of the boys a disposable camera that year and it was VERY interesting to see what they thought was important enough to take pictures of. We have lots of photos of stuffed animals and of Tigger. I will try to post those as well!
