Jets Win! Cowboys Win!

Elizabeth was pretty happy on Saturday as the Jets made a win against the Bengals look easy. William was also pretty happy that cowboys whipped on the Eagles. As my team was obviously not IN the playoffs, I just watched the other games and dreamed about next year! Not much going on around here lately. I have been getting back into yoga. {Had to go out to the factory on Saturday morning, but that is another story.} And I'm still easing into the new year. I haven't been taking a lot of photos yet, kind of taking it easy and trying to decide what project I want to do next. And I'm looking forward to picking up a new *cheap* sofa/loveseat for the dogs and boys to trash this weekend :) Happy Monday! Have a great week!

Monday Night Football

Bryan and I in our Monday Night Football watching gear! Go Bears!
Ohhhhhhhh, yeahhhhhhhhhhh.......what can I say? As a Bear's fan, I have to say that there is nothing better (when you aren't going to make the playoffs) than messing up someone else's chances :) Happy Thursday!

Our Weekend

Counting down the days....
Look at the sweet kids in front of the Christmas tree...

Elizabeth is getting ready to go to a Christmas card making party...I'm not sure what they did....girl stuff, I think....

Awwww......
Oh, yes. This is what we had to go through to get to the real photo. Nice family photo, huh?

Daddy and I with our football watching gear on taken in the mirror that used to be ours. Loving the self-portraits everyday for Yesterday and Today. Can't wait until Wednesday to finish up the layout!
The Jets fans. Pudge takes great photos...as long as you have a treat in your hand. And one more thing-I am soooo excited. One of my December Daily pages made it onto Ali Edwards' blog (here.) Soooo excited. I woke my husband up to tell him I was so thrilled. Thanks, Ali! Have a great Tuesday!

December Daily {Day 3}

The next page in the album was created by using my Christmas card. But you can't see my Christmas card until I send them out :) I created my photos on Shutterfly, so I added these photos to the back of the card to cover up the barcode. Love how the dogs react to the reindeer antlers. None of them were very pleased. Tigger looked like she was ready to attack.

The photo of Pudge in front of the tree as Santa Pudge.

I used a piece of vintage sheet music to create a page for William playing light saber with my new role of wrapping paper.

The back of the Santa Pudge page gets the photo of Bill and Elizabeth watching the game. I added the Believe sticker because that is the Buffalo Bills motto: "Bill"ieve. I found the grungeboard ornament in the bottom of some stuff from last year. The ornament had already been crackled, so I just rubbed some alcohol ink over it and added a number "3".

A close-up of the ornament.
I am loving the December Daily process-as always. I would like to try to include more words on my pages too. But I also want to spend my time being a part of the holidays rather than just documenting them.
Happy Sunday!

Technical Difficulties

I experienced some technical difficulties last night, but I am up and running now. Here is how Elizabeth (Jets fan) and Bill (Bills fan-connection?) spent Dec. 3-watching the Bills-Jets game that was played in Toronto. The Jets won.
And here is William pretending my wrapping paper is a light saber. (Spent 1-4 at Bryan's school sorting fundraiser stuff. It was nice, mindless work, which I needed desperately). Good times. I have my Dec Daily pages done, but want to wait until daylight hours to take the photos. Hope to post tomorrow! Happy Weekend!

Football Sunday!

Here we are...before the game...when we were still smiling. I may actually put this photo in my December Daily album. Football is a huge part of how we celebrate December, and Nov. 29 is very close to Dec 1. Right?
And speaking of December Daily, last night I put all of my stuff in a big enamelware bowl that I bought on my last trip to the antique store. I am soooo ready to start working on it! Tonight I am working on my "Day in the Life" project for Week 9 of Ali's class. Hope to post soon! Have a great Tuesday!

Football

As one of the team captains tonight Bryan and Terence helped the J-Hawks start with the ball tonight. They played Kennedy Green (undefeated.) Kennedy Green has been undefeated for the last 2 years. Kennedy is the MAJOR high school opponent for the Jefferson J-Hawks. Guess what? The Jefferson team went 5-1 this year. And Kennedy Green? Oh, yeah. They went 5-1 too! Our boys played hard and beat them 24-8. It was pretty sweet. I'm so proud of our boys. That team was TOUGH! I would like to do another post later in the week about football through the years. We had an awesome coaching staff with some awesome parents too! Thanks so much to Coach Striegel who coached our team and had his BEST season ever! You deserve it!

Found Photo~2002

I was searching for a particular photo in my photo albums and boxes when I found this photo of William from Flag Football. I thought it was very fitting to post it right now. This photo was taken in either 2002, or maybe 2003 (I'll have to check my other photos for dates). I don't remember if Sarah took it or if Mom took it, but one of them took this photo when they came to visit. When William was a Hawkeye, he was in 2nd grade. That was 7 years ago. Sunday will be our last game at the MYFA complex. That is a lot of years. Metro Youth Football has been a large part of our life for a long time. It is a fantastic program and I am thrilled that my boys had an opportunity to be a part of both Flag and Tackle football. Thanks for the memories!

Autumn Sunday

A beautiful fall Sunday afternoon. Elizabeth said she would go with us to take photos of us together. The only way I could get Bill to go was to tell him he could wear his slippers:) And we ran into Bryan at the park too! So they stopped for a photo (even though I wasn't supposed to take any photos of Elizabeth!)
Too cute!

Having fun.

Setting up the shot.

Left Tackle lined up across from some big guys. They were nothing Bryan couldn't handle.

J-Hawks win! We are 4-1! Good times! Too bad the Bears game didn't end like this....
Happy Tuesday!

Football Sunday

Freezing our butts off at Bryan's game Sunday. It was warmer than it was at practice Sunday morning when it was snowing, but definitely not warm enough for me. J-hawks won: 36-6.
Bryan has to be at the game an hour early, so we stood around for awhile. Unfortunately, the game before ours was running late, so we started almost 45 minutes late.

Mom and Dad hanging out before the game.

Before the Carhartt hat came out.

After the game. Mom and I could barely feel our feet. And I was wearing my super warm UGG boots and 2 pairs of socks! But Bryan was VERY happy! Go J-Hawks! Good Job!
Happy Monday!

UNI Dome: Jayhawks 22, Warriors 21

On Thursday, I got a phone call from the coach's wife. Would Bryan be able to play at the UNI-Dome tonight? Would we be able to drive? You bet!
The boys didn't really have a handle on what they were doing exactly. All they knew was that they were playing a scrimmage. And that if they lost it didn't count. But if they won, it did count :) Once they got inside...

...they had a much better understanding of what was going on. And they thought it was "pretty awesome, but the astroturf hurts, " according to Bryan.

The lighting was horrible. I took a huge number of photos just to get a handful that turned out. As long as no one was moving, the photos were fine. Finally I figured out that there were really bright lights right over the 50 yard line, so most of my photos were taken around that point.

Daddy ate the leftover popcorn that I had in the car from "Popcorn Day" at work while the boys warmed up.

We got to go down on the field to take photos when our team's names were called, but they were on the other side of the field, so the picture wasn't great.

They had officials and even announcers for the game. That was pretty sweet. Because Bryan got a sack right at the beginning of the game, so he got his name called.

Us in the stands - totally enjoying the game.

We could spot Bryan from a mile away with the orange Bears t-shirt sticking out of his jersey.

Not a single fumble from our center - sweet!

Great Defense!

And the best part...Bryan got to play on the 4th quarter team.
They were down 21-8 at one point in the fourth quarter. But they came back and the extra point (which is actually worth 2 points) was good! Way to go Jayhawks!

J-Hawks get the win!

It was a pretty happy ride home for Bryan and 2 of his team members. One of the team members had an interception in the last 40 seconds of the game when the other team was trying to come back. It was a pretty sweet play. We had a great time at the game and it is something that the boys will never forget. Nice work, Bryan. Maybe we can see you play here again someday!

Tuesday...

I took these photos on Friday morning while I was waiting for the boys to finish getting ready for school.

I thought I would share some photos of my morning glories today because I'm am about ready to fall asleep at the computer :) Sarah-I cannot for the life of me find photos from 1979. Mom probably has them all. But I have some that I will share with you. I am collecting them and will probably post them tomorrow. Bryan had a game tonight-I'm not going to share the score, but he did a great job. He is still learning to stay with his blocks, but he is working really hard! Happy Tuesday!

I love morning glories. I also love how some of them are this color...

and 3 feet away...they are this color...every once in a while I get a blue one, but they only come out blue once in a while...

Have a great day!
