So after the art journal page that was in the last post, I started working on our next project. I started sketching our backyard while I was sitting outside.
Then I started sketching the “soon to be patio area.”
Then I started making stuff up and figured out how to incorporate the pea pod that Junelle had in her project.
And then I sketched a portion of the drawing and added color on a piece of watercolor paper.
I can’t wait to take a photo of our new patio when it’s finished!

So, I am loving the Art of Wild Abandonment. (Sign up here.) On Sunday, I watched some videos and started following the sketches.
Then I started cutting some papers that I had on hand.
And then I followed a lot of what Junelle showed for the first Art Journal Project. I LOVE how it turned out.
I’m always a fan of banners…
And aprons…
Added a laundry basket.
And of course the rubons.
And some Tulips.
Which I just happened to have on the table!

I’m loving the Art of Wild Abandonment. I’m loving the sketching and the painting and the fun.
So-you may remember that this happened a couple of weeks ago.
It was Daddy’s Father’s Day present last year and he loved his car VERY much. You know…the kind of love where he goes out and wipes it down with a chamois and stuff like that.
Yesterday we drove to Chicago and this was the first look we had at this girl. I’m pretty sure that we both fell in love with her at first sight. And then I test drove. He always makes me drive. He didn’t even drive it until last night after we dropped the rental car off 
Long story short…we bought our first S series. Love IT. Not sure what I love more-the 340 hp 4.2L V8…or the ridiculously comfortable Recaro seats that hug your butt while you’re driving…
Anyway…we made it out of Chicago in one piece.
And I got to shop at Archiver’s.
And I took a really blurry photo of Daddy and Bryan.
It was a good trip.

Bryan wanted a Futon for his Birthday. And he got one. Here he is “owning” at Pole Position. I love how the boys play games that are older than they are on a regular basis.

And check this out… A REAL smile! Not the ones that I usually get. A REAL smile! He IS a real boy!!

This month, I didn’t even need to go to the dollar store to find inspiration. I had this birthday card that I got from my grandma in art journal file. (It’s a Hallmark card).
I grabbed some watercolors.
And some dollar letter stamps.
And a pen.
I love how the doodling that makes up the flowers consists of placing your pen on the page and not lifting it until the flower shape is complete.
I am happy with the results.
And I LOVE how it turned out. Happy Tuesday!

Happy Bryan. With a win just for Grandma. And not just any win. He went the whole 4 minutes! Didn’t catch the score at the end, but with 30 seconds left in the 3rd period the score was 7-0. Nice job, Bryan.
